Community Outreach

KidsOfCharacter_tagline

Designed to reach the most vulnerable children and provide pathways for their success, our Outreach Program provides new character education books to low-income communities.  Donors have a unique opportunity to underwrite books—for a class, grade, or primary schooland the option to facilitate the story time and book signing. We encourage donors to present their gift in person.

Since 2014, EWF has benefited over 25,468 children with their award-winning character education books and literacy programs and provided author visits and signed copies of Tame Your Manners and Sip Tea with Mad Hatter books to forty-three (43) academies and schools and forty-six (46) charities.

Furry Reading Buddies™ is a unique program that links social emotional learning (SEL) and humane education.

Pets make us happy, provide comfort and give us hope, not to mention unconditional love. Research shows us that human-animal interactions create better-focused, more social students. Just the presence of a pet— in the form of a book, photo, toy or video— leads to laughter, conversation, and overall excitement. To reinforce student learning, we are proud to introduce our “furry reading buddies” program with the launch of this book.

Testimonials

“Thank you again for sharing your kindness, sincerity, and passion with our students and staff! The feedback is all so positive! Your book helps highlight skills our kids need to be good, honest and kind humans. It is written in such a fun and whimsical way that kids can’t help but be drawn in. The generous donation from S. Daniel Abraham has given the students of our school a treasure, a book that will help guide and lead them to be the BEST they can be!”

– Michelle Siegel – Diamond View Elementary – Title I School

“Loretta’s assembly program was simply remarkable. She masterfully intertwined humor and storytelling to captivate our kindergarten through fifth-grade students. What impressed me most about Loretta’s presentation was her natural ability to manage the group and connect with the kids.  She allowed the audience to express excitement and enthusiasm, while quickly refocusing their attention without wasting a second of time.  The teachers, students and I loved participating in the presentations.”

 – Raymond Payton, Memorial Elementary School Principal

“Mrs. Neff was by far the best motivational kids author we have experienced. The journey took the students through the different animals of KAMP Safari to be the best they can be using the pillars of character. She was insightful, meaningful, and comedic at the same time.”
