The EW Foundation celebrated the organization’s success in providing educational books and services to children with a sold-out crowd at its annual musical brunch.
The sixth annual Books, Bellinis and Bel Canto took place Feb. 9 at The Colony with co-chairwomen Suzanne Holmes and Loretta Neff in attendance.
After a reception in the courtyard, guests had a Mediterranean-style brunch followed by entertainment and a raffle. Junior chairs Xiomi and Roby Penn shared with guests the foundation’s work and its impact on the lives of children and families in the community.
The brunch highlighted donors Richard E. McCready, Herme de Wyman Miro and Gail Worth for their support, as well as the winners of the 2019 “Knock Our Socks Off” School Showcase Khalil Greene, Lourana Augustin and Maki Greene.
Money raised at the event benefits literacy programs for children and youth in low-income communities while providing award-winning character education books.
